Pack Thinkers

Privacy policy

Pack Thinkers is a free card game. This page says what it stores about you, why, for how long and who else handles it.

Last updated .

What the game stores

  • A random session token in a cookie (__Host-device_token, kept for a year). It is how the game recognises your browser. The only other cookie, __Host-oauth_state, lives for the few minutes a Google sign-in takes.
  • Your game: coins and their history, cards and duplicates, streaks, quiz, bridge, daily-puzzle, letter-by-letter and groups results, and the showcase you choose to share.
  • If you sign in with Google, your Google account id and email address. If you play in Telegram, your Telegram user id, username and profile photo link.
  • How you first arrived: the link's campaign tags (utm_*), the referring site's host name and the landing page, and who invited you if you came through a friend's link.
  • Request logs: each request's path, IP address, country, browser family and device type.

What it does not do

No advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking scripts, and no selling or sharing of your data for marketing. The game never asks for payment details: coins cannot be bought with money.

Why

To run the game you chose to play (your collection and your account), to protect it from abuse (rate limits and logs), and to count which links bring players. Under the GDPR the first is the performance of a contract with you and the others are legitimate interests.

How long

  • A guest's progress is deleted 30 days after the last visit. Progress linked to Google or Telegram is kept until you ask for it to be deleted.
  • Coin history and game results are kept for 90 days, opened packs for 30 days, arrival data for 180 days and request logs for up to 7 days.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and its database. Your data may be processed outside your country.
  • Google and Telegram, when you sign in through them, under their own privacy policies.
  • Wikimedia: our server fetches card text from Wikipedia, but portraits load in your browser straight from Wikimedia's image servers, which therefore see your IP address. No referrer is sent with them.

Your browser's storage

The game keeps a copy of your collection, your settings (theme, language and the like) and how you first arrived in your browser's local storage, so it starts fast and keeps working offline. Clearing this site's data removes it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use: write to support@packthinkers.com and name the account (Google email or Telegram username) or, for a guest, the device you play on. Signing out removes the session cookie from your browser.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13.
